TCL NxtPaper Specs- First Color RLCD Tablet Android

At CES 2021 TCL has just launched a new android tablet called the NxtPaper. This new device uses an RLCD (Reflective LCD) color screen which is better for the eyes since it has no backlight. The display here is similar to the one used by the Hisense Q5 tablet- except this one comes in full color.

 The company states that this new display provides better contrast and is 36% thinner than a normal LCD screen. TCL also claims that it is also 65% more power efficienct.

The device will have an 8.88″ screen with a resolution of 1440×1080 pixels. It runs on Android 10 and is by the Mediatek MT8768e processor and has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with support of upto 256GB externally through sd card.

Further more it has a back and front camera with 8MP and 5MP respectively and is powered by a 5500mAh battery that will give you enough juice for one day’s use.

It is priced at 349 Euros and will be available in Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa and Latin America in April 2021.

  1. what differentiates this device from the q5? they seem to be using the same exact technology and science, except that one has color and the other doesn’t this one is likely to emit a glare just like the q5. so is there a special mate screen protector that comes with the TCL device?

    • yes they are pretty similar except for color. also this is 8.88″ while the q5 was 10.5″. No news of a matte protector for now. Oh and unlike the q5 this one will be released globally making it easier and cheaper to get.
