The Dasung Paperlike 253 is now available for pre-order from Indiegogo for an early bird price of $2000. The 25.3″ eink monitor was first announced in 25 December 2020 but it’ll be released/start shipping on August 2021.
Note that since it’s a big device the shipping cost will be a bit high too. One buyer from Canada said that it was $250. And there will also be customs fees. In short- it’s not cheap 🙂 but considering it’s size and that it’s eink 2k is a pretty good price. When it was first announed I thought it would be in the 3k range.
Dasung’s selling partner in America -SOL Computers- also said that the monitor will be available on their Amazon store on August. I can’t say for sure but it’ll probably be sold at its original price of $2550. But you can avoid customs and get a lower shipping fee if you buy from there.
Besides using the Paperlike 253 as a monitor for your PC and laptop you can also use it with Phones and tablets that outputs video signal output via HDMI. It will have Dasung’s patented Turbo refresh software which is used in the Paperlike 13.3″ monitors- you will have 5 speed options to choose from. The monitor will come with a height-adjustable stand, power adapter, 1 HDMI-A to HDMI-A cable and a USB-A to USB-B cable. The full specs of the device can be seen in the table below-
